Yui Hatano Interview 2015

Yui Hatano is a famous Japanese AV star with a career currently spanning 7 years who has appeared in productions of various themes and genres. She's also famous outside of Japan. Let's now have a chat with her!

Men's V: I hear you have international recognition now.
Yui Hatano: I've done events in Taiwan and a few movies as well.

MV: A movie?! I heard you had a leading part. Do you think you could do that again in Japan?
YH: Have no worries. I love AV and don't plan to stop doing it. It may be work, but it's really fun. With that said, I view my adult video work to be my vocation and anything else to be simply supplementary. Lin Chi-Ling is a Taiwanese model and actress whom I'm said to resemble. Perhaps that's why I became so popular there. I find it kind of strange since I really don't think I look like her at all.

MV: May you tell us how you debuted in AV?
YH: Well, I first wanted to be a gravure idol. However, after talking with some people in the industry, I found out there were a ton of women wanting to do the same. If I took that route, I may have been buried amongst them and not have been very successful. Fortunately this was already in the era when it wasn't rare to see AV stars on variety TV so I felt taking that route would be a better option. However, the very first time I had sex on set was a pretty trying experience!

MV: Have you always loved sex?
YH: I love thinking about sex. Even back a long time, I was always daydreaming about it. I guess I've always been kind of perverted. If anything, my yearnings for it have only increased the longer I've been in this industry. I really love being an AV star.

MV: By the way, when was your first time?
YH: I was 16 and he was in his forties. We met through one of those online anonymous hookup sites. It started with a bunch of email exchanges before we finally decided to meet. He was big...too big, really. My first time hurt and I didn't get any pleasure out of it.

Men's V: What about Yui Hatano makes her such a hot seller?
Yui Hatano: Maybe that I can pull off playing an older lewd woman really well? Early on I used to play lots of young wives and pseudo-incest titles, but now that I'm a bit older I've been playing mothers too. Both types of roles are actually more mature than my actual age (27 as of 2015). In spite of not being married, I think I pull off the wife role with great execution.

MV: I sure can tell. You've been playing that role seriously well in some titles.
YH: Oh yea, I recall that one. It was the PTA for some high-end school, but things were really debaucherous when the doors closed. That title had a lot of naughty scenes that sometimes had me given and receiving obscene word play and a lot more. The sex scene at the end was my favorite.

MV: Do you think over adult work offers more now due to your growing international fame such as in Taiwan?
YH: Amongst all the offers I receive, I look and accept jobs that sound like I'll have a good time on set. This of course includes the movie I did in Taiwan which was a great experience! I'm not the one who maintains a clear set goal. There's no zenith in site for me. I'm more of a 'go with the flow' type of person.

MV: Are there other things you have set your eyes on doing? With one big movie under your belt, do you have an urge to star in more?
YH: Before doing AV, I graduated from a cosmetology vocational school so if I ever wish to retire from this line of work, I'd probably do something in that field. Perhaps I'd still work in the AV industry, but as a makeup artist (like Mana Izumi). Acting is tempting, but I don't think I have what it takes to continue far in that field. If anything, I'd really need to start attending acting school to have something close to a chance.

MV: That's a very humble thing to say. Lastly, do you have anything to say to our readers?
YH: I thank both my fans and my co-workers in this industry for always being there to support me. I'm very grateful for that! Of course I would like people to keep on viewing my work, but I am doing more and more events now so please visit me in person as well.
